About the Investors in People Diagnostic Assessment Process
The primary focus of a
diagnostic assessment is to provide base line information
on where your business sits within the
scope of the three underlying Principles of the Investors in People
Standard - Plan, Do and
Review.
Clarity of
feedback is provided using
the 10 Indicators of the Standard as reference points. The best way
for an organisation to find out how effective the key people
strategies and processes are working, is to talk to people about
their day-to-day experience of them.
Confidential,
one-to-one interviews form the basis of the Investors in People
assessment process. This forms one of the unique features of the
Standard and is consistently well received by people at all levels
within the business.
The approach is
pragmatic and uses simple and relevant language so that the
organisation is clear on what works well and what the priorities
are for next steps. The philosophy of Investors in People is not to
create dependency but work interdependently with
organisations.
Investors in People
assessments are not a 'compliance check' but rather a planned and
structured approach to ensuring the links between people
development and organisational performance. Therefore the feedback
from these reviews is structured in two parts:
1. Detailed feedback
against the 10 Indicators and the supporting 39 Evidence
Requirements of the Standard.
2. An Executive Summary
highlighting areas for improvement. This information forms the
roadmap to move forward and drive future
initiatives and actions to close the gaps identified during the
assessment.
